    Hi there,
    I'm Fouzi Rahuma, I own Patriot Comuter, the problem is;
When I turn my Computer on, it starts loading when the screen turns into blank green and the cursor shaped like an egg timer, the screen freezes all of a sudden, when I try to move the mouse the cursor does not move, I then have to turn the Computer off and on again, I keep doing this until the Computer starts properly. This problem happens frequently. Could you please tell me why this is happening and how to solve it?

    Thank you.

    Download Hijackthis at http://tomcoyote.com/hjt/ .
Create a folder on your hard drive and save it there.
Unzip the file and extract it to the folder you have created.
Scan your machine, then click on Save Log.

Post a copy back here and someone will be happy to review it.

When you run HJT and then click on Safe Log, it should open up in NotePad. Highlight everything and right click and select Copy.

When you reply, again right click in the post area and select Paste. That should do it.

Highlight everything and right click and select Copy.

When you reply, again right click in the post area and select Paste. That should do it.

It opened up but not in notepad also it will not highlight.

As soon as I double click on hijackthis, a hijackthis window opens, Iclick on scan,I tried to highlight the text to copy, it would not highlight, then I clicked on save log, I save it where I wanted to save it,then when I tried to double click on the saved logit did not open, I get file download instead nothing else.

To use Hijack This, follow these steps:

    1. First click on Scan
    2. Once this has completed, click on Save Log.
    3. A save dialogue will pop up, save the file to somewhere such
    as your desktop.
    4. Open the file by double clicking.
    5. If this does not work, right click on the file and select Open With...
    6. Once you have slected Open With..., select Notepad from the list.
    7. Highlight the text and copy, then paste it to the board so that the experts may conclude what may be the problem.

    Hopefully this will be helpful.

Okay, let's try it this way...

    Section A:

    1.)Go into your control panel
    2.)Click on Folder Options
3.)Click on the File Types tab
4.)Scroll down and find "TXT" If TXT does not exit, go to Section B below
    5.)Click on the button Change...
6.)Select Notepad from the popup listing
7.)Close Folder Options and try again to open the file

    Section B:
(Only follow these steps if TXT does not appear)

    1.)Click on the button New
2.)Type in txt and hit OK
    3.)Go to step 4. of Section A

NOW... if all of that doesn't work. The last thing you can try, is to rename the extention to ".ini" instead of ".txt" Then try to open it.

Let me know how it goes!

    I followed section A, there is no TXT so I moved to section B clicked on newtype I get the following options windows;
    1- Discription of Type
    2- Associated Extention
    3-Content type(mime)
I typed (txt) in any of the three option windows at a time,I get this message ; (the extention is already in use by filetype txtfile,
choose another extention),the same happened with (ini)

Ah, I think I know something that might help problem. Go back to hijack this and scan again. Only this time, when you click on Save Log, Click on "Save as Type" and click "All Files *.*" Then type in hijackthis.TXT (as opposed to .LOG) and save. Then attempt to open that file that was created.
