    Hi,
I have a sound crackle problem, a sort of static noise whenever i play any games on my pc, i do not have it when playing MP3's or anything else, only during games.

I have tried 2 different sound cards, the hercules fortissimo III, and the one i have now is the sound blaster 5.1 digital, i have also tried them in different PCI slots and i have made sure that they do not share any IRQ's.......But still this unbearable sound crackle problem...

I use Win XP Home and have the latest sound card drivers, is there a patch or something for the SiS 648 chipset this mobo uses?

I am at my wits end with this stupid problem...ahhhh

    Can you help me....?

    Thanks
    Ade

Is the audio source from a CD-ROM? If it is you might want to try a different audio cable from the CD-ROM to the sound card. The audio output from the CD-ROM may also be bad.

you could try enabling digital audio. Right-click on My Computer, then choose Manage. Select Device Manager from the left-hand pane. Navigate to the properties box for each of your CD, DVD, CD-RW, or DVD-RAM drives, and check the box Enable digital audio.
    good luck
    ;)
