I have been having an unusual amount of "page cannot be displayed the site may be temporarily unavailable etc....." while browsing lately it seems to be happening here the most, of course this is my most frequently visited site, but it is happening elsewhere.Sometimes I have to close my browser and restart it to get to a page. I have done some experimenting and it appears to be happening the most when accessing pages from my favorites. I don't know if it is possible for it to be directly related to only my favorites. I have done a few things such as system restore, ran sfc /scannow and checked everything I can think of in internet options (maybe I am missing something). I have the Random forum here in my favorites and sometimes when I click on it it takes 2-3 minutes to load, I am on cable and it usually loads in 5 secs. I don't know what's up. Maybe someone has some Ideas.

    I am using IE 6

We've had some intermittant problems with server delays here, so I would not take what happens here as an indication of other problems.

But look in Internet Options > Connections >(LAN) > Settings

Is "automatically detect settings" checked? Try it different ways. Also look to see if you are using a proxy or a script configuration.

At first I thought it was just here but have found that it is happening randomly on various sites. Also it is happening when I just type in the address as well. I am experimenting with my LAN settings now and I will check out the MS KB link you provided Rog.

The strange thing is that one minute the page will not be displayed and I close the browser and come back and it loads fine.

I downloaded Hijack this and am posting what it found to see if maybe my browser has been hijacked. Hopefully someone can check out what it found and see if there is anything suspicious.
