I recently purchased an older computer to play around with. I tried to hook up a printer and the computer wouldn't recognize it. I've determined that the port is underpowered and I need to enable the ECM to get the printer to work. I went to the setup screen so I could alter the bios and discovered a password set on the menu. I can't access any setup utilities. Is there anyway to enable the ECM without the bios, or if not, is there anyway to get around that password. Thank's for your help.

You should have a clear cmos jumper on the mb. Use that and it will load defaults [this will clear any password]. You may have to go back into the bios and load any special settings that you need. If you do not have a clear cmos jumper then you can remove the battery from the mb; leave it out for a few min. That does the same thing.
