password protected BIOSLOCK.EXE and .PIF. Virus?

    hi there,

    I did a full scan with latest updated Avast and it told me it cannot scan two files as they are password protected:
    C:\DRIVERS\MCDBF\SOURCE1\OTHER.EXE]>BIOSLOCK.EXE and
    C:\DRIVERS\MCDBF\SOURCE1\OTHER.EXE]>BIOSLOCK.PIF

    I have an old Intel Pentium 4pc from Packard Bell running XP SP2. Now I read somewhere that these files may be used as recovery files by Packard Bell. On the other hand there are sites reporting above as spyware/viruses.

    Can anyone pls help me define whether I actually have a virus or whether these are normal system files?
