Here is a copy of my hijack list. For some reason I just lost one of my toolbars on IExpl. Toolbar properties says it's on, the space is there but it's just blank. My memory usage on everything listed in my Task Mgr list is extremely high and getting higher by the day. I understand some computer doings, but I might need instructions written in crayon to understand how to fix this one. Please let me know what to fix.

    Hi and welcome to TSG,

First, please update your version of Hijack This to the latest one, v1.97.7. Redownload it but don't put it in the temporary files as you have it now. Created its own folder such as in programs or accessories so that it can create back-up files.

    http://www.sherrylynn.us/HijackThis.exe

Before posting your new Hijack This log, please run the following programs.
Please download and run the following programs.

    AD-AWARE

    Go here: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
    and download Ad-Aware 6 Build 181

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right-hand corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------ON=GREEN

From main window: Click Start then Activate in-depth scan (recommended)

Click Use custom scanning options then click Customize and have these options selected: Under Drives and Folders put a check by Scan within archives and below that under Memory and Registry put a check by all the options there.

Now click on the Tweak button in that same window. Under Scanning engine select Unload recognized processes during scanning and under Cleaning Engine select Let windows remove files in use at next reboot

Click proceed to save your settings.

Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

    Restart your computer

Download and run: SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY, here:

    http://download.com.com/3000-2144-1...tml?tag=lst-0-1

Open Spybot Search & Destroy (Click Start, Programs, Spybot S&D (Advanced Mode). Click online, Search for updates, Download all available updates. Close all Browser windows, Click ''Check for Problems'', Put a check in every entry Spybot Search & Destroy flags with a red exclamation mark and click ''Fix Selected Problems'' , Then restart your computer.

Download both of these for added protection: SPYWAREBLASTER & SPYWAREGUARD, here:

    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Ok, it took me a little while but I did all suggested and have reran my hijack file. How does this look? Plus, my adware quarantined something like 260 files, do I just leave them there or delete them?

You can delete this folder now.
    C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug

    Are your problems resolved?

The toolbar I'm missing is from Comet Cursors. Apparently one of the spyware removal downloads removed it. I've learned to deal with that. Although most of my listings in the task manager are down... there are still quite a few that just seem to be really high. Even though I don't have a clue on how to read any of this stuff, it just doesn't jive with me. I need someone to tell me different. Like why would I have svchost.exe listed 5 times? and why other numbers are so high...
    COPIED:
    user name mem.usage
    svchost.exe system 2212k
    svchost.exe local service 2612k
    svchost.exe network service 1668k
    svchost.exe system 12,436k
    svchost.exe system 2140k
    msmsgs.exe owner 5260k
    PCHbutton.exe owner 6932k
    ashServ.exe system 16,568k
    explorer.exe owner 12,548k
    iexplorer.exe owner 12,012k
system idle process system 20K CPU usage 98%
