PC crawling. HJT log. Need help!!!

My PC is grinding to a halt and I can't find the reason why. Evertime I try to open My Documents or Windows Explorer etc the little torch scans for ages as if the files aren't there. It can take minutes to close Windows Explorer. AdAware and AVG scans show nothing. I don't know how to read the Hijackthis log files. Can anyone help with this?

Clacksguy:

Click Start - Run, type in MSCONFIG, then click OK - Startup(tab). Everything listed there with a checkmark next to it is loading during startup and running in the background.

Other than ScanRegistry, SystemTray, StateMgr, and AVG, very little else needs to be running in the background. Unchecking them, clicking Apply - OK, then rebooting will take care of the problem.

A bloated startup load is the source of many problems, including reduced computer performance.

By the way, make sure to have at least 256 MB of RAM installed. Windows ME is not happy with less.
