PC Doctor Needed

    I have a Sony Vaio pc that I've had a few years with no problems, but two days ago the pc will cut on and show vaio plus intel logos then my screen goes black, how do I fix this? Please help sister gonna kill me...:(

    when did this start and was it following any software install

    have you tried
    start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore> choose a date before the issue started

    Since you don't boot into Windows fully, you should try booting to Safe Mode and try running the System Restore Wizard from there.

    To access the boot options screen that has the safe mode choice, among others, press the F8 key repeatedly while booting up. When you get the options screen, before trying safe mode, try the one that says "Last Known Good..." and see if that works. That might be faster.

    ok now i'm getting "Please Select Boot Device"
    I only have 3 options:
    1) SM-PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-107D
    2) 1st Floppy Drive
    3) PM-Maxtor 6Y160P0

    Try it again and this time wait until the initial splash screen fades (POST) and then immediately begin pressing the F8 key. Timing is everything so keep trying until you get it.

    looks like the harddrive is not seen
    as the PC starts it should tell you how to get into the Bios / setup F2 or F10 or Del key or other
    have a look and see if it detects the harddrive there

    This seems to be the only screen thats popping up

    "Please Select Boot Device"
    I only have 3 options:

    primary IDE Slave (not detected)

    Item #3 on the screen that you got is your hard drive. Have you tried selecting it and seeing if you get booted?

    Do you have a floppy drive installed or available? A CD or DVD drive? Do you have the XP setup CD?

    You probably don't have a primary SLAVE drive installed. What does it say about a primary master ide drive?

    Ok the third one says Secondary IDE Master
