My pc has given up the ghost! The video drivers have now packed in along with many other problems. Does anyone now a good PC Repair Engineer in the North West Kent area (near Swanley)?

    Cheers.

    Hi,

    thanks for the reply.

It is simple first off - the pc will start in Safe Mode but a blank screen shows if started normally. I have tried System Restore but no luck. I have looked around and there are no Video Drivers installed. The monitor is a CTX VL700.

    Cheers!

just some comments, you say you have video in SM, so your card or onboard is ok, right? you could try resetting you bios to defaults, if that doesnt work, go into safe mode and remove your cards video drivers, reboot and see if windows will boot up then. Your monitor does not need to have drivers in all likelyhood just to work, windows should assign generic drivers to run it.

First, have a look at this little English Forum http://xp5.co.uk/glop/

Download Everest Home from http://www.lavalys.com/ and run it. What we are interested in is the Graphics Card make and model (shown as Video Adapter in the Summary page) so we can get some drivers onto your machine.

ta for the advice. I'm not sure taking the pc apart is within my capability!

    Hi Dave,

Have installed Everest as suggested. Where do I find the summary?

    Cheers guys...
