I have a hp pavillion p7 1421 running win 8 on it and every time I turn it on it freezes with 2 to 3 minutes. I hit it with malawarebytes and McAfee but it just got worse. Its even freezing in safe mode and now I'm afraid to touch it. It even froze when I tried a system restore ITS THE DEVIL I TELL YA!!! The only thing I can think of is a Factory set reboot of the computer. But I have to buy a reboot disk for that plus I want to upgrade to win 10 so should I buy a win 8 or win reboot for this problem or is there a solution I'm not thinking of??????????????

You can purchase the Windows 8 64-bit recovery disc kit for your HP Pavilion p7-1421 Desktop PC from one of these sites:
http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-2...pavilion-desktop-pc-model-number-p7-1421.aspx
https://www.restoredisks.com/hewlett-packard-pavilion-p7-1421-windows-8-64-bit-restore-disks

That model desktop is over 4 years old.
When was the last time you removed its side panel and blew out all the dust and debris from inside it?
A heavy build-up can cause overheating, which in turn can cause it to freeze up.

Thanks, actually blowing on it did help. I still have a virus though because its not letting me use my malawarebytes or mcafee, but at least I have a fighters chance now. CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya :)

Sorry for the lateness in a reply, these forums can be very busy. Are you still having this problem, or have you tried the restore option? If you are still having issues, can you do the following and we'll go from there:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please copy and paste log back here.
  • The first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.

Thanks

eddie
