PC only runs for 1 to 2 seconds?

    I posted this problem yesterday,but it was moved? where to and why........

    I switched on my 4 year old Pc to find the fans run for 1 to 2 seconds and that was it. after examination of M Board i found a scorch mark on board.. which is a MSI 6775.. no longer available, so replaced it with a MSI 6570G. switched on.. hey presto.. nowt.. could this now be a power supply problem? help. ::(

    Yes psu first then compatibility of ram second is where I would look...also make certain hsf is firmly in place.
