I will tell you now, I am a very bias person against apple products.

simplicity? I think the imac does win here.

if you want a vast music collection, either one. Both are fairly easy to add an external hard drive to hold all of your music. but you do have more choices for programs that can organize the music on the PC than then imac.

for games? HANDS DOWN pc. unless you get the mac pro. BUT then you lose some of the simplicity of setting up, because it's more like a normal PC. on top of that, the mac pro is not cheap.

the best way to keep it simple for the PC, buy from the big names like HP, Sony, DELL...etc. and make sure you get the customer service plan. If anything does go wrong with the computer, they can help you (or you can come here for that help)

PC for Gaming, Mac Pro for everything else... but having said that, the new Mac Pro - Intel Based machines will be something to look into as you would be able to run Windows on it. I think some games are porting to the Mac... Command and Conquer 3 is. :D

As for hardware, Apple wins* hands down (as in repairs etc)

    * note that is only from my experience and from some other people that i know.

yeh id say if you want to fullfill all of your specs ther i would go for a media PC...running XP NOT vista, for simplicity sake (and gaming!!!) for music id say a mac is pretty good, but a PC with a decent Sound card is just as good. but if your looking to game then you CANNOT get a mac as most games wont run:) plus you dont get the customisability with a mac..

and to be honest, repairs wise, it depends on where you buy the PC from!!! such as Dell, i dont know about in the USA but in the UK they r easy to get hold of an i think have very good customer after care...it wouldnt do any company any good to have bad customer care now would it...so get a PC!! (from anywhere other than PC world:))
