    Hi guys,

    A couple of times my PC suddenly shuts down while I'm working on it. And I immediately switch the power off and then turn it on again after a couplea minutes and then it'll go to the black screen with the option "Start Windows Normally" which I always choose and everything is ok and all but then in a couplea days it happens again.

    This has been going on for quite sometime as everytime it happens, I get really nervous coz i dont know the cause of the problem.

    Would really appreciate your expert advice on to wat may be causing this sudden shut down and is it causing harm to my PC and how i can prevent it and all.

    I'm using Win XP.

    Thanks guys!

    start with running adaware and spybot;
    if nothing changed post a hijack this log here- [links for all 3 tools below]

    follow the next instructions on posting the Hijack This log here;

    It’s very important that you save the log to its own permanent folder on your hard drive, such as program files or My Documents/hjt, (not temporary files or the desktop)- or you may loose the ability to undo any changes you make, so that it can create proper back-ups and be able to restore them if necessary.

    Close all open windows and open Hijack This. Click “Scan”. When the scan is finished (it only takes a second), the scan button will change to “Save Log”. Click on “Save Log” and then save it to NotePad. Click on “Edit” – “Select all” – “copy” and then “paste” into the thread.

    DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET;- Await further analysis here.

    Ahhhhhhhhhh! Recently, my notebook has been shutting down with this message on dark blue background: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR. Yadda yadda yadda. Beginning dump of physical memory.

    In addition, it is taking several minutes to boot and likewise to download my homepage. My husband's computer is not experiencing this problem, yet!

    Help please!
