I want to send streaming music (ie. XM Radio, RealPlayer, etc.) from the Internet to my good ol' Sansui hi-fi amplifier and from there to speakers throughout the house that are connected to the amplifier. Can anyone tell me the easiest, least expensive way to accomplish this? My PC is a custom job with stereo speakers and a subwoofer/control unit. Is there some way to tap into the PC output using a signal splitter? What signal splitter? I know about Hi-Fi link, but am hesitant to buy it after reading their FAQs. Would appreciate any help...

The way I have mine hooked up is I have a Y-connector plugged into the soundcard output, with one line going to my computer speakers and the other one to the tape monitor input on my stereo amp, so I can listen to one or the other, or both. You could use almost any input to your stereo that you're not using.

This is probably the cheapest way to go. Another thing to consider is whether it's possible to run a wire from your computer to your stereo without it becoming a tripping hazard.
