    Hello -

I have had my PC for about 5 years it is custom built and recently had a nasty hijack / malware / trojan infestation. I reformatted and installed updated drivers and SP1. When I went to install SP2 I got errors saying it could not be installed.

Previous to SP1 I had installed Chrome / Spotify and Adobe software.

    After SP1 -

    SP2 - error
    Adobe Reader - error
    Google Drive - error

everything I attempt to install does not work.

I am set up as Admin.

I have low to medium knowledge on troubleshooting these issues so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you install Windows, too, after "reformatting"?

If you plan to install SP2, do it immediately after installing SP1 and not after you have installed other things that could potentially interfere with the process. Some drivers may change, too, after installing service packs.

Whatever happened, your setup is corrupted in some way. You'd be better off starting over than trying to patch it and leaving something unfixed.

Did you see any errors during installation?

I agree. Do a clean reinstall of Windows Vista.

Make sure it's up-to-date with SP1 and SP2 and the post-SP2 important/recommended updates before you start installing a bunch of programs and extras in it.
