Hi

Got a Biostar Tseries 945P Chipset here. Apaprently Core2 is only supported after the bios has been flashed. Question, will the pc boot when I use a unsupported cpu, or will I have to use a supported cpu, flash and then put the new one in?

I put a e2140 in the pc and it's not booting.... So I am hoping its just the flash requirement, and not a busted mobo.

Thanks

Hi,

It will be one that is supported by your motherboard.

What is your motherboard make and model?

Here is a list of supported processors.

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/t-series/cpu_support.php?S_ID=193

It looks like the cheapest way to go is to buy a Celeron D 331

I would HIGHLY recommend that you check with Biostar since the BIOS updates listed;

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/t-series/bios.php?S_ID=193

doesn't indicate that the E-2140 is a supported processor.

If Biostar says the E-2140 is supported, buy the Celeron D 331 and flash the BIOS to the latest Biostar BIOS, remove the Celeron D 331 and install the E-2140.
