    So the scenario is.......

    Gigabyte K8NXP
    AMD 64 3200+
    2x 512 Corsair matched
    Maxtor 160 SATA
    XFX 6600GT 128
    500W PSU

A brand new system, everything runs fine untill I try to run anything graphics intensive. After a couple of mins running any decent game the monitor cuts out (displays no siganl msg), basically everything just stops except the fans, i cant hear any hdd activity either....

weird stuff, it's PCI-E so its not the power connecter (cos it doesn't have one), everything else runs fine, is it a duff graph card? is the motherboard not supplying the card with enough power?? i'm stumped :-(

i am really just guessing, but do you have enough cooling. It kinda sounds like the video card may be giving off too much heat, and causing a detector somewhere to go off.
