Hi, I have a few questions about the pci wireless device. My cousin has a laptop on their house and she can get a wi-fi access free from the neighbor. They also has a desktop and paying for a dial-up internet. Since they have a free wi-fi on their house, I suggest they just buy a pci wireless adapter and install it in the desktop ao they can have free internet and faster.

The product I'm talking about is this:

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...43959?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

And one more thing. Here is the device:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3350612&CatId=2691

I know that is built for the purpose of laptop but do you think it will be best if I buy that compare to the pci?

Which one is better pci wireless or usb wireless for desktop pc?

And also, since they are just gonna use the internet for free, will the settings on how to connect the internet same with the laptop?

Thank so much. I prefer the USB thing but I'm afraid it might not work in desktop pc.

Please advise. Thanks so much!! :) :D

Since using their neighbor's Internet access is not sanctioned by the ISP, I don't think anybody here is going to help you on this matter. Sorry......

I suggest you read the forum rules.
