It seems I have a weird issue. Okay, so I installed an external TV tuner, PCTV Media Center 100e by Pinnacle Systems. Now when I watch DVD's or listen to CD's using another program other than the Pinnacle Media center, the audio skips every few seconds. This did not happen before I installed the media center. But, suprisingly, when I watch the same DVD or listen to the same CD using Pinnacle media center, ta da! it works fine. so, i checked the driver to my DVD/cdrw drive and it says that it is provided by microsoft, but when i click "driver details" it says that the driver is called Pinnacle Systems gmbh. does that not seem strange. is this a known problem, that such a program like media center can hijack drivers causing other programs not to function properly but for their program to operate just fine?

i am using win xp sp2
