I made a full reinstall of W98SE, installed the SiS chipset drivers for my P4S5A chipset and now my CPU usage reads 100% all the time.
I notice that after disabling mps.exe at startup (file located in: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\mps.exe) the CPU usage reads a normal 1 to 5% when I do nothing.
I also know that some software monitoring processors to slow and cool them down when possible, give a false CPU usage of 100%.
But I didn't install such software as far as I know.
Is it possible that the mps.exe is realy using my CPU at 100%? or is it most likely a processor monitor?
