    Hello all.
Any thoughts on the simpliest program for accomplishing this?

Depending how much you want to convert, I only know, how to take a Printscreen and paste it into Paint to save the page as a jpg.

Irfanview .. pdf to any Image format you want.
You'll need the All Plugins and GhostScript
I'm curious why you want to do this ??

If I can figure out this Ghostscript thing, I'd convert lots of PDF files to JPG. For the technical manuals I write, data and artwork for mechanical and electrical components and assemblies is available from manufacturers but it is almost always in PDF format. Typically, customer delivery requirements for the manuals are source files in Word, illustrations in JPG. This conversion ability would be quite a timesaver.

Just install Irfanview .. the All Plugins .. and the Ghostscript I linked to above.

Adobe Photoshop or the cheaper Elements can open a pdf as an Image .. and edit the Image ..
and save it in about any format.
The advantage of Photoshop or Elements is that you have a lot more Image editing capabilities ..
And they can also open a dimensionless pdf .. To any size (dpi resolution) you want.
Due to the jpg compression distortion .. It's the last format I'd think about using.
for black n white graphs or text .. (something with sharp lines/edges) .. I might use a gif format.

Let Word or Publisher do the final conversion .. (downsizing) .. and avoid jpgs unless it's a picture and you need 16 million colors.

If you convert to a 600dpi tif image .. Then M$ word can OCR the Image.
This might be useful if you have a chart that you want to reconstruct.

Sorry .. For some dumb reason ... OCR had been removed from Office 2010 .. It's been moved to One Note
