I have developed a web site which links to a number of PDF (Acrobat) files. Many people use the feature where Acrobat files launch within an IE window. So as a rule of thumb, I have PDF links open in a new IE window. You can see what I mean here. (Click the link at the bottom of the page for the Myelon Newsletter PDF.)

I've gotten reports that for users running IE6, when they try to close this window containing the PDF, IE crashes.

I'm on a Mac, so I can't reproduce this problem. I've even tried going into Virtual PC, and using IE6, open a PDF and then close the window. However, I don't have the problem.

Have any of you heard of this before? Does anyone here experience this problem when they go to the link I provide above?

    Thanks...

What version of Acrobat are they using? I just tried your site using IE6sp1 (latest patches installed) and Acrobat 6 and I didn't have any problems.

Thanks for checking. I just found out they're running Acrobat 5.0.5. I'll have them upgrade.
