PenDrive Not Working

    Recently i have bought a Sony MICROVAULT USM8GR USB Flash Drive.After buying i plugged it in the usb port. the Usb driver installed correctly. But when i opened My Computer,the drive was nowhere to be seen. I opened Disk management,but it shows that the drive is not loated.i rebooted the computer,uninstalled the universal serial ports, installed driver....but no result....plzz help!!

    Go into device manager with the drive plugged in.
    Does it show the correct USB device??
    If so, you will possibly need to partition and format that drive .

    this is the result...but it still not shows...also in my computer the drive remains remains hidden..when i try to open it,then it shows "Please Insert a Disk into the removable disk (I: )"....help quickly..

    Right click on the top one and see what properties shows.

    Does it also show under IDE etc or other storage devices??

    no...
    but the I: drive ( pen drive) shows under Portable Devices

    My conclusion at this point would be that it is faulty.
