phone software

anyone know any good software where i can use my computer to make and receive phone calls (more importantly just make) from my PC using just a phone jack through my EXISTING phone service.

i dont want any of this crap that you have to sign up for their service or anything.

Mine on my Compaq must be accessible through MSN messenger! I talked to joe2cool in the UK from my pc through my MSN messenger. Loud and clear and using the mic built into my monitor. Shocked me the first time I used it! :) Just letting you know! Take care. angel :)

By the way....loved Joe's British accent! :D

If you have a fax/voice modem, WIN 98 or XP, you have all you will need to set up using phone thru your computer. Add a good headset with mic and you should be off and running. WIN98 setup is in control panel under Telephony & XP in CP under Phone and Modem Options. Just set up the dialing properties. Also, may need to check master volume controls to be sure Telephone is ticked.
