    Hi there,
I am actually encountering a problem while viewing any photo on my windows 7 PC. My PC is equipped with 64 bit Windows Ultimate OS. Whenever I open any picture through windows photo viewer, an error message is displayed that :

    C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer\Photoviewer.dll is not a valid Win32 application.

I even downloaded a fresh dll and replaced it with the other one, but it displayed the same error as it was before. What possible reasons could be for this problem and how can it be configured ??

Can you open the photo with any other photo viewer?

    Bassfisher6522,
Likewise, I downloaded Picasa and a couple of other photo viewers but the problem that is computer is not reading them. And again and again it is resetting itself to its original windows photo viewer.

just for kicks and grins, let's check the below:

Please run the MGA Diagnostic Tool and post back the report it creates:
    • Download MGADiag to your desktop.
    • Double-click on MGADiag.exe to launch the program
    • Click "Continue"
    • Ensure that the "Windows" tab is selected (it should be by default).
    • Click the "Copy" button to copy the MGA Diagnostic Report to the Windows clipboard.
    • Paste the MGA Diagnostic Report back here in your next reply.

    Is this a different issue?

Do you still have this issue?

Have you tried running sfc /scannow https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

Have you made your system repair discs? http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/create-a-system-repair-disc
