    Hi everyone,
Just bought photostick to extract photos from old desk computer and from old laptop.
In desk comp WindowsXP it shows “disk not formatted”, in laptop Windows7 it shows “removable device not recognised”. But I have one more laptop, which old too, but I recently cleared it to “factory condition” and it has Windows7 and photostick perfectly well working with it. But this laptop is empty. So what might be wrong with my other devices and what to do with this photostick?

I transferred all data from Desk Comp Windows XP to laptop (as new) windows 7 using belkin easy transfer cable. Photostick worked with this laptop well, so I used it for saving photos. Part of work done. Now I am trying to use this photostick with laptop 1 ( old) Windows7. Photos safe, i just wonder why this photo stick does not work with Windows XP. Is it computer problems? It is old comp, about 15 years old.

I was reading all that thread you mention before asking help. My problem is not how to safe photos ( i did it in many ways including paper printing). My problem is how to make photostick work.
And another question: as I understood ThePhotostick has preloaded programme. Is it possible to formate it, remove all preloaded content and use it after all just as standard usb flesh drive?

Yes to the last but it makes it a rather expensive flash pen
The purpose of the photo stick as I understand it is that the software on the stick automatically finds the most common image files eg jpegs
Have you seen the suggestion from my colleague re the ex-fat file system - post 5 on the link

I cannot find the 32bit download anywhere, presuming your XP is 32bit, except here

NOTE I cannot of course vouch for the download and it is entirely at your own risk

The 64 bit is readily available

Thanks, I will try to download 32bit. It is a bit tricky for me as I am not computer specialist and even not user this days, since I have ipad.
What for “expensive” flesh drive - it is still better than throw it away, as photostick software does not work on my PC anyway.

Oh, thanks, I definitely will try it tomorrow.
Talking about formatting - how to do it? I cannot do it on PCWindows XP, because on the end system says “ windows cannot do it”, but may be I can do it on laptop windows 7?

When I reported to seller it does not work for my Windows XP, they sent me another one. It does not work with Windows XP too, but now I have two sticks. I use one as Photostick with Windows7, but I want to use other one just as flesh drive.
