I have recently started messing around with php, mysql and apache on my debian server a little and i was trying to figure out if i have the 3 working correctly.

currently my test server can somewhat read from a database , but cant seem to update it. i have been using old walkthroughs and tutorials but I'm wondering if the code I'm trying to test with is just out of date or something?

anyway my question was if there were any recent tutorials to test the basic functions of the 3 so that the server setup is my only variable.

    any help would be appreciated
