Have a dell Inspiron laptop with a Intel Centrino wirelss -N2230 adaptor, with windows 8.1 OS. The ping test fails and I cannot get a wireless internet connection (Ping Test - Failed - No Response from Default Gateway/DHCP Server) is the error. Other devices work fine using this network. Have tried turning off firewall, resetting wireless adapter, completely removing virus software, did a system restore, nothing is working. I keep getting the yellow triangle
[IMG] "limited" which of course means no connection. Icon in the task bar blinks 3 bars with yellow triangle, 4 bars with yellow triangle, no bars. It blinks from not connected to connected to limited. Everything has been working fine for the last six months. Can anyone help with this?

Hello, the ping test is entirely useless if you are not actually connected to the network Please describe your issue in more details, including any messages or errors that you receive when you try to connect to your wireless router; what kind of wireless security is on the router, what make and model, if you are able to connect any other computers or devices to it...you get the point.

    Regards

Wi-fi is available at the apartment complex where I live. The equipment is a SMC Networks Business IP Gateway and a TP Link Advanced Wireless N Router. Error msgs when I try to connect using my laptop are "cannot connect to this network"; "no internet access". I ran the network troubleshooter and it try's to reset my wireless adapter. I don't think that is working based on the troubleshooting report. I can connect to this network using other devices (my smartphone and tablet). My landlord and neighbors say they can connect with their devices and pc's. The only network is password protected. I also get the msg "identifying...no internet access" in the taskbar.
