Hello,

I was cleaning out one of my guy's computer, updating scanners, etc. He came for the laptop before I could test what I had done. He called me this morning to say that everything was pink! I walked him through how to adjust the desktop color and how to adjust other color and scheme settings. The background color worked fine, but changing the "Appearances" in Display Properties didn't work as it should. Excel opens with a pink background.

Anyone have any ideas what might have caused this? Yes, I did use a registry cleaner. Anything else?

Thanks,
Dev

Check this setting. Right click desktop and Properties. Appearance tab> Advanced button> click the drop down under Item: and select Window. On the right, under Color 1: select the color White on the drop down. OK, Apply and OK. This should set the background color of windows.
You might check the Application Background under the same and see if it is selected Gray for color.
