Just bought a second hand laptop which has a pink screen on startup. It comes right in a few seconds but was wondering if this is normal. Thank You

No, not on any laptop. Its either got a problem with the video card or screen. Have you tried to connect an external monitor - what is result on boot-up?

External monitor does not show pink screen. Is it possible the LCD screen is on its way out or just more likely the vidio card.

Likely the LCD - and they usually cost an arm and a leg. If you just bought it, try returning it.
