I had an issue with my headset not working after plugging my ps4 controller into my PC.
I went into the settings and disabled the ps4 controller as an audio and mic device. I have audio coming through my headset however my mic isn't being picked up.

This is a hardware section. Rather than saying PC, please list the exact hardware of the PC.
Also headset make and model needed to be able to offer any helpful advice.

Windows 10. Razer Headset. I used the headset with my PS4 and I used it on my pc for about 3 weeks before this issue started happening. It just started doing this 2-3 days ago.

Also I experience this issue on Apex Legends. It’s really the only game I play

What device is showing for the Mic in the settings?
Lol it’s not that man. They can hear me for a split second then they can’t. I’ve been running this computer for a minute now it’s not something that basic.

OK, so it's not that it's flat out not working, just starts then stops?

When it does not work, does the Microphone 'sensor' in the Devices/Mic show that you are being detected?

Yes bro. It will say I’m talking and they will hear me for like 3-5 seconds then it will cut me off.
