Finished above, found no folders when in safe mode searched for AdTools and deleted all files and folders refering to it and emptied recyle bin

There was a program called "golden retriever" in Programme files it would not uninstall without password so left it as it was.

In the main all seems ok, no spurious pop ups or links to dubious websites but it is not my PC, but I will be kept informed.

When I deleted AdTools Service a pop up that is linked to below flashed so I assume it should go.

    O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windupdates.com/cab/C...bridge-c356.cab

If the HJT above is Ok then I will keep my fingers crossed and educate the owner as best I can. I know they have a different PC with similar issues (possibly worse) used by a studying teenager, I have suggested they log in with your kindselves and post a HJT but I will get them to clean with Spy Bot S&D, Ad aware SE, Spyware Blaster to pick up as much as possible unless you advise otherwise, thanks for your esteemed knowledge.
