thank you-- I've noticed that when, for example, I click on a link it will say "this page cannot be found" and opens in a new window. Also, sometimes not all the picture boxes show on sites for example,
on Yahoo, it will show the word mail but not the picture above. It's not all the time and some of the pictures not all this happens to. It will have a box on the upper left side with an X in it where the picture should be.
Could this be my settings?

#8 ·
I've tried what you instructed on 2 of the four id's I have on the pc and so far ok. But wanted to check with you that I should do these steps to all 4 id's and the cleaning before I can say that this is ok, right? Or should the fix for IE on one id effect everyone and be ok ?

#10 ·
I did the cleaner on all id's but I am still having the same issue's with IE. Also, I have EZ CD creator ver: (5.1.2600.1106) which will not copy/record cd's now. It gives me an error"Cannot get the necessary recorder information. Creator API returns failure" " Could not detect ant supported CD recorders."
Does this mean that there is a file missing? Could this be from whatever is going on with the pc? I un-installed and reinstalled the application and still receive the same error. I've done the scans and nothing is found, says it is clean. Could EZCleaner or Cleaner have removed a file that was necessary? I am getting so frustrated with this pc. And the lack of time lately has not helped.

#14 ·
I ran the Hoster and restored original hosts and a few of the pictures show on the Yahoo home page. The Yahoo does not show. When I go to Ebay most of the pictures or titles do not show, there is only the red X on the top left where it would be.
I listed another HJT log in case it can tell you anything.

I did that too...now it is having problems opeing links with sites, takes forever or comes back with "page cannot be displayed" error. I attached a screenshot to give you an idea of what I'm seeing(thought it might help).
Anything else to try?

Thaought this inoformation may help..I ran a scan with Ewido and it found Spyware.Alexa and removed it. It says it is in: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{c95fe080-8f5d-112d-a20b00aa003c157a} Could this be what is causing the problems? Also, Now I am receiving a message upon windows startup on the id's on my pc..I receive " A new Network connection has been found and lists the ip address... I have never had this happen before and not sure what it is from. The message is generated from EZ Firewall application.

Hi - sorry have not replied- I have been laid up for a week with walking pnuemonia.. It took quite a few trys to finally install ZL ..it would look like it was DL'ing but would not.. I disabled my EZ firewall but ZL will not install until EZ is uninstalled. Should I go ahead and uninstall it or is there a way around it?

doing better thanks... I went ahead an uninstalled it. I had to do it while in safe mode as it would not fully uninstall. I also ran Ewido while in safe mode. It found Spyware.Alexa and removed it. When I rebooted IE came up without a problem. At first a little slow, but looked ok. I will test it more today/tonight to see how things are. Could the problem have been with the DNS settings? Could they have been effected in some way? I also was checking on MS.com and found that the same type problem was found back in Feb. of this year but no updates since then regarding any type of fix.
Is there anything else should do/check?

Hi- IE has been doing ok. TOday when I first opened IE the pictures were not there again- but when I hit refresh everything was there. I closed it out and tried it again and it was ok..so nt sure what's up with that. Other sites are ok and trying links within sites is ok. ZA is installed and works fine. One thing I have noticed though is that the Microsoft games are gone. I did not or anyone else remove them from the pc. They were there last week and now they are gone. Oh, and the printer keeps disconnecting. When I reconnect it finds it and it is fine. At other times it will not print then I check it and it is on pause printing. No one sets it that way it just happens, so I don't know what's up with that either. Any ideas as to what is happening with it?
