I am not sure if my puter has scum ware or if it is starting to die on me ( it's old by todays standards) But I keep locking up. I did my usual spybot, adaware, avg scan, trend, tried Panda but it always locks up and I then tried Rav's online scan, it said that there was a suspicious file, a porn dialer but I couldn't see a way to clean it on their site. Can someone check my log to see if I have any nasties? Thanks!
Chari ~ who is trying to hurry in case I lock up again.

I don't see any sign of a dialer or anything else.

    Looks clean to me.

Have you done all the routine maintenance ie defrag, empty temp files etc...?

Thanks Flrman1! I did get a chance to look thru Brendan's tutorial and was fairly sure that I didn't have anything Major wrong after reading up on things a bit!

My computer had locked up on me at least 6 times today! I am fairly certain it has something to do with with my cd rom or cd burner because for some reason they are working intermediately. After one of my many restarts , I checked my computer and my d was gone and my e drive ( burner) was there and earlier in the day my e drive was gone but the d was there. I have been able to surf with out freezing since the drive disappeared . I thought it might be viral because there are times that my burner drive - tray flies open out of no where, locks me up then disappears from my computer and device manager.

If this old thing is about to expire I just hope it will hold out for a bit longer so I can save up a bit of cash!

    Thanks again ,take care
    Chari
