I have had a number of severe errors using WinXP Pro and the system error message has a reference to the Nvidia IRQ or driver. My display adapter isbeing reported as the GeForce 7025/Nforce 630A. Using control panel, I have attempted to open the display adapter but receive " the nvidia display panel extension cannot be created" message. Your advice in another thread was to update the display drivers.

I selected the Smart Scan to locate the correct drivers but receive "a current version of Java is needed to continue". I find myself running in circles as my current Java for XP is out of date and browsers will not support a new version of Java and my OS. Do you have a direct link to the Nvidia drivers?

Thanks

The most current Windows XP 32-bit driver for the NVIDIA GeForce 7025/nForce 630a graphics device is version 6.14.13.0783 and was released in February 2013.
It can be downloaded from here.
Download and save it, then close all open windows first, then double-click it to start the install process.
Unless you have any need for all the extras, select the custom install option and then select only the display driver to install.

----------------------------------------------------

Internet Explorer 8 is the most current version that you can use with Windows XP.
Unfortunately, many websites no longer support it, so you need to switch to an alternate browser.
Mozilla Firefox(current version is 45.0.1) is what I use, and it works fine.

----------------------------------------------------

The current version(8 Update 77) of Java will install and work with Windows XP.
Just disregard the warning that appears and click OK.
The window will eventually appear and the install process will proceed.
If it detects any older installed versions, allow it to uninstall them.

----------------------------------------------------

I'm guessing you have a 2007 - 2008 era HP/Compaq desktop.
Is that correct?

Do the following in that custom-built desktop.

Download and save the TSG System Information Utility (SysInfo.exe) to the desktop.
After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.
Information about your computer will appear.
Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

ASRock N68-S UCC motherboard

It has these primary devices:
NVIDIA nForce 630a chipset
NVIDIA GeForce 7025 graphics
VIA VT1708S/1705 high definition audio
Realtek RTL8201EL/8201CL 10/100 Mbps ethernet

It supports and provides device drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista and Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit.
It has 2 DIMM slots and supports up to 8 GB(4 GB X 2) of DDR2-800 RAM.

I would've recommended that you upgrade your computer to Windows 7 32-bit and add another 2 GB of RAM, but the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.30 GHz dual core processor in it has an average benchmark score of only 1151, so Windows 7 32-bit would probably run like a turtle in it.
