Ok first off I have used SpySweeper, NoAdware, Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad Aware SE, Panda online scan, Spyware Blaster, Norton, Trend Micro online scan, and a few others. My computer lags at startup and when the desktop loads the mouse hardley responds, then it will just stop/freeze. after about an hour i can move the mouse again but no programs will respond. I have looked at the possibility of a hardware conflict - but there doesnt seem too be one, i also have changed the mouse three times. I just dont think its the mouse. The only way too get the computer to function is to run it in Safe Mode. Much Help would be appretiated im at a dead end with this one.

    HC!
my Hijack this log has only 10 entries or so...

try checking and fixing everything in hijackthis - my experience has been that if it is important it will put itself back in where it needs to be.

msconfig would be a good idea too.

    a. reinstall your os.
    b. services.msc
    c. trust me and do what I said on HijackThis

Safe mode works because it is not loading the items in your HijackThis log...
just try it, if something gets screwed up you can always use the backup function in HijackThis.

    Dust Sailor:

as much as I hate to contradict you, practically nothing in the log is neccessary to run the computer - hardly anything in the scan list anyway, which is what we are talking about here.

I have gotten rid of everything in the log, and those that are needed for the computer to run put themselves back where they are needed.

    erica2158:

as bad as your problem sounds I would have to recommend reinstalling your OS.
if you have your windows cd just pop it in and it should guide you through it.
just make sure you don't reformat or you'll lose all your programs and files.

wow, you are in a bind...

    you could try:
    spy sweeper
    spybot search and destroy
as well as scanning for viruses.

Having seen what all you have done to fix this, I don't think many of us could have done any better...
At this point it sounds like you may have some corrupted system files so reinstalling the os may be your only option.

btw: what os do you have?

I dont know what else could be the problem, do you think it could be the power supply fan? Do you know where i can get a disk too do a full system recovery? I really am at a loss on this usually i can figure it out but not this time. UGH! Thank you!

Erica............your HijackThis log is clean.........Abdhul,if you cant see that, then you really should not be trying to assist, especially the way you have:rolleyes:

Erica, make sure nothing is disabled in MSConfig, then scan and post another Hijackthis log please....Making sure we get ALL the details including the version number which should be in the header.
There are two A/V programs showing in the 04`s but none in the running processes,do you have them disabled?(You should only use one)
It would also be a good idea to download and install SP2 as soon as your sorted.

    ;)
