I think it is possibly the Google Redirect Virus and it redirects me to random sites and also while I am typing it changes the location of the cursore within the text.

Please help me fix this. All the help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Sorry for delayed response. Forums have been really busy. If you still need help with this do following, please.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds file to run the tool.
    • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
      1. DDS.txt
      2. Attach.txt
    • Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

Thank you so much for replying to my post. Before I go ahead and follow your instructions I just wanted to give you an update on what's been going on since my post on this forum.

I have downloaded and run RKill.exe from Bleepingcomputer.com. Then run TDSSKiller from Kasperky and then rebooted my computer and run MAlwarebytes antimalware program. I have done this a couple of times and the redirects seem to have stopped but my computer is still very slow and sometimes when I am composing an email the cursor jumps around in the text which is so annoying. Also when I run task manager I see 2 processes which I cannot delete csrss.exe and winlogon.exe. I don't know if this is an issue?

Should I post a new hijackthis log or just follow the instructions that you have posted.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me solve this problem.

    Hi,

Take those steps in my previous post. Also, please see if you're able to find TDSSKiller log. It should be in c: root (c:\). Name should be in UtilityName.Version_Date_Time_log.txt format

    Hi,

    BitLord

Above listed ones are P2P file sharing programs. P2P downloads are nowadays one of those things that most likely bring infection into the system. My recommendation is to uninstall these (and other if present) P2P file sharing programs.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully first.

    Please continue as follows:

    1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
      Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

    2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

    C:\ComboFix.txt
    New dds log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

    Hi again,

Upload c:\windows\System32\ntoskrnl.exe file to http://www.virustotal.com (reanalyse if prompted) and post back a link to the results.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

    Code:
    DDS::
    BHO: {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - No File
    BHO: {602ADB0E-4AFF-4217-8AA1-95DAC4DFA408} - No File
    TB: {7FEBEFE3-6B19-4349-98D2-FFB09D4B49CA} - No File
    TB: {21FA44EF-376D-4D53-9B0F-8A89D3229068} - No File

    Save this as
    CFScript

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Close all browser windows and refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
    Then post the resultant log.

Uninstall old Adobe Reader versions and get the latest one ((Adobe Reader X + 10.0.1 update for it)) here or get Foxit Reader here. Make sure you don't (unless you want to) install toolbar if choose Foxit Reader! You may also check free readers introduced here.

    • The page will refresh.
    • Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
    • Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
    • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.

I did all the things that you had asked me to do and am attaching the logs for ESET scan, DDS, Combofix as well as virus total.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Uninstall PCSafeDoctor.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

    Code:
    Folder::
    c:\program files\PCSafeDoctor
    File::
    C:\Users\Ashutosh\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\54\43e67536-76c26c51
    C:\Users\Ashutosh\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\9\7be78a09-15542597
    C:\Users\Guest\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\TNB0LEHB\53[1].pdf
    C:\Users\Guest\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\TNB0LEHB\event[5].flow

    Save this as
    CFScript

Close all browser windows and refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
Then post the resultant log. Still any symptoms left?

Please find attached the new combofix log. Also, the symptoms appear rarely now mostly when composing text. But every time that I have run combofix it always shows that ntoskrnl.exe file is infected. Also, as I had mentioned before that when I run Task Manager there are 2 processes winlogon.exe and csrss.exe where the user name and description field appear blank and I cannot delete them. That makes me wonder if the virus has changed the system file (please correct me if I am wrong as I am a novice and have very limited knowledge about malware).

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Update MBAM and run a full scan with it. Post back the report. Any issues left?
