    Please Help Experts

I am a computer teacher. We have a computer lab with 20 Dell machines. The new computers are Dell Dimension 4500,
with Windows XP running. Last week, I began the process of downloading the latest windows updates, and patches. After downloading the latest Windows XP service pack, and installing the critical updates I restarted the machines. The Windows XP Login screen comes up fine, and then I selected one of the user accounts; in this case "student". The "Welcome" screen
comes up and the message "Loading your personal settings...". At this point, the machine "hangs" a moment, and then the following window pops up:
WINDOWS UPDATE - "An error has occurred while setting up
C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbscript.dll This error has been logged, the
    installation will continue.
At this point, I click "OK", and the machine continues to boot to the desktop. This error message is obviously related to the downloading of the service pack, and patches. I have not yet done this task on some machines, and they do not have this problem. Please help. Thank you.
