    Hello folks

I am having a serious problem trying to get Sims 2 to work.

The problem is this, whenever i try to start the game I get a "Failed to find a Direct X 9.0c compatible graphics adapter" error message.

I have a ATI Radeon 9600 xt video card and I have Directx 9.0c installed. I installed the latest ATI 4.9 drivers and I am still getting this error message!

Please help i don't have any idea on what to do, and I notice many other people are having the same problem on the sims 2 forums, but no tips on fixing it yet.

My drivers seem to be working properly, and directx should be installed okay. Other options I thought about was maybe it could be my sound card- I have a soundblaster live value card, and drivers haven't been updated in a while.

Please someone help, I really want to play sims 2!

    Thanks for your time.

Hey actually guys, I found the answer. Go to your nerest electronic store (best buy, good guys, frys, etc.) and pick up and a new graphic card called-GEFORCE MX 4000 PCI 64MB DDR. It really works for whoever has this problem. Trust me, I did as well.

The problem is that you have to have better graphics on your computer to play the sims 2 so...there you have it!

Read the first guy's post before you post. He has a Radeon 9600XT which i assure you is ten times better than that PCI card that you gave. Hehe, just research it before you buy a card. :D
