    Hello folks

I am having a serious problem trying to get the new game "Sims 2" to work.

The problem is this, whenever i try to start the game I get a "Failed to find a Direct X 9.0c compatible graphics adapter" error message.

I have a ATI Radeon 9600 xt video card and I have Directx 9.0c installed. I installed the latest ATI 4.9 drivers and I am still getting this error message!

Please help i don't have any idea on what to do, and I notice many other people are having the same problem on the sims 2 forums, but no tips on fixing it yet.

My drivers seem to be working properly, and directx should be installed okay. Other options I thought about was maybe it could be my sound card- I have a soundblaster live value card, and drivers haven't been updated in a while.

Please someone help, I really want to play sims 2!

    Thanks for your time.

Run the DXdiag utility to get more information on the video card compatibility. You may only ened to install an older driver version.
