Same old story? I don't know. Having some interesting browser issues including freezing on certain pages (only IE, not the whole OS) as well as having different pages display than what is listed in the address bar. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you very very much in advance of any posts, and similarly mushy thanks to come after as well.

thanks (see below for log from HJT),

sean.

Run HJT, check the above items and select the fix option.

A couple of comments...

I have had many problems with Real Player, Real Arcade, etc, etc, causing system and browser malfunctions. Your Real notations are not included above, but if you continue to have system problems, they are clearly marked on the log, and you might want to "fix" them.

You have a lot of stuff in your start-up menu; you might want to go to the "other software" forum and look for a start-up manager. I'm not very up-to-date on what's available, as I use System Mechanic, and it has a startup manager in it.

After you have made the modifications via Hijack, please go to the "Importnant Information" thread in this forum, by Chatten, and follow his lead on installing/running Adaware 6.0.

If your problem is not solved, post a new HJT log here and let us know.

If you are AOK, please come back here, hit the "report" button on any post in this thread, and let us know your problem is resolved.

Good Luck! Welcome to TSG.

Hi, Here is a site to see what is needed at system startup- the page opened very slowly here but did finally come up.
http://www.wincleaner.com/pc/uti/utiste/support/startup programs-help.htm

it explains what the items you see in log starting up are, there is a lot you have running at start you do not need, like Office FindFast, noted for slowing things down (OSA9.exe)
You have lots of media players, QuickTime, just many things loading up that you do not need....you can start them anytime from tray icons, or Program menu, desktop shortcuts....too much at startup can really bog any system down.
