I have windows xp. my virus protection program keeps teling me to run the program to take care of infected files: WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/BRIDGE.DLL AND WINDOWS/HEM216.DLL. i cannot find these files anywhere to quarentine them. Now I lose my internet connection every few minutes and then it comes back. Browser is running slow. I am at my wits end! Any adivce? I have run Adaware several times, still getting tons of pop ups. What are these files I listed above? I think they must be the culprit
    thanks for any advice.

Download, install, update, and run Spybot. It's free! That along with Ad-aware will catch most spyware. You could also head on over to McAfee's website. They have a free tool that looks for the most common/popular virus'...it's called Stinger (and it's free). Stinger does NOT replace your anti-virus software. It's a tool you run occasionally.

You might also take this post over to Security-----they are real good at cleaning up these problems.
