I have a compaq persario My sound is not working at all! I accidentally deleted my realtek hd software, trying to free up space(dont remember what it exactly was). Now, my sound tool isn't on the toolbar, when i go to all programs/accessories/entertainment/sound volumes it says "no sound device?" And i've read different forums about this and tried what they have said to do, and did it, but it still won't work. I re-installed mydrivers etc. I changed my soundboard settings to "enabled.Does it have something to do with the BIOS?

Please help! No sound!:(

When all else fails, System Restore to a date before you deleated the files (as long as you're running anything newer than Me). Otherwise, all standard sound drivers are available on Compaq.com. You may want to check simple things like the volume control in the Control Panel and make sure that you're not mistakenly muted.
