    Hi, guys:

It has been frustrating days for me. I got pop-ups on my computer. I scanned it with Mcafee and found w32/spybot.worm.gen in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documnets\explore.exe. Later I scanned it again and just couldn't find anything. But I still got pop up. (Actually, now I blocked pop-up using earthlink pop-up blocker. So I don't really see pop-up. But when I was not connected, it always gives a message saying something like " The website you requested is not availble offline).

I followed the removal instructions given by symantec. Since I don't their antivirus softwares, I replaced with Mcafee. But I couldn't find the worm anymore. Now I want to try spybot-search and destroy. Is it safe to use spybot-search and destroy?

If I send web browser based email, will I send the worm to my friends?

I scanned the computer using HijackThis. The following is the report.

    Top Banana suggested me:

Scan with HijackThis, put a checkmark at and "Fix checked" the following entries.

    O16 - DPF: {13197ACE-6851-45C3-A7FF-C281324D5489} - http://www.2nd-thought.com/files/install011.exe

But after I did this, seems the pop-up was still there.

Please help me. Thanks a lot!

    Sam

    O4 - Global Startup: KODAK Software Updater.lnk = C:\Program Files\KODAK\KODAK Software Updater\7288971\Program\backWeb-7288971.exe
