OK, I know everybody's going to get mad at me for not doing this right...but I don't know what to do...I'm afraid my computer is about to bite the dust though. I keep getting all these messages and popups that say my computer is at risk and this site : http://www.websecurityguard.com/det...ntry&URL=http://www.antivirgear.com/?aff=1012
(I do not recommend clicking that, because it may screw you too) keeps poping up ever 30 seconds and I can't find a way to delete it.

Please help me figure out what's wrong with my computer! I don't know much about computers at all. I know a few things in DOS....a few commands and what not...but not enough to get me anywhere. About 3 or 4 weeks ago, I am pretty sure my computer was hacked at a game site. Shortly afterwards I downloaded a spyware and virus program to check for problems. It found like 300 critical errors....and it said it fixed them.....but I don't think it did because I never clicked anything other than "scan". It never asked me if I wanted to delete the files or errors....so I don't think it did. Then last night, I started getting wierd pop-ups that won't stop. It keeps telling me my system is in critical danger. I've ran the spyware program again and it keeps showing two files, something called trojan something or another, and it's lodged itself in pretty good. I don't know how to get rid of it, like REALLY get rid of it. When you send it to the recycle bin, I know that it actually doesn't delete it, it's still all over the computer. I want it gone, really gone for good. Could somebody tell me how to completely remove files? Or what I can do to get rid of these pop-ups, and the icons in my system tray.....they won't go away. Thanks

    Grant

PS if anybody knows of any good IP addy tracking places, let me know because I ran netstat in command prompt and got a list of foreign IP's That I'd like to check out. Thanks again. Also, it is not my intention to make anybody angry....I am just at a loss about what to do...I just don't know....thanks for taking the time to read this.

Also, another popup says that this virus logs keystrokes, tracks websites and steals passwords....is it true that it does that? Do I really have a virus? I'm wondering because it wants me to download a certain anti-virus program, maybe it's a scam? How can I be sure?

    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

    • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
    • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
    • Click on Install.
    • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
    • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
    • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Also, I will donate what is left on my GreenDot card, because that is the only credit card I have, and I'm sure you don't take cash. I don't have a bank acct. or anything, but I think there's like 15 or 20 bucks on that card, and when I get some more money I will donate again. I really really appreciate the help :D.

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - (no file)

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

Please download (save) SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your desktop.
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop. Select all of the contents and Extract them
to a new folder called SmitfraudFix.
Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
