Please help, my computer is about to die!
My computer seems to have a life of its own and I have no control over it, despite the fact that I'm using all possible precautions, such as using AdAware, Spybot, SoneAlarm, AVG, Microsoft AntiSpyware, etc... Startup is taking longer than ever, windows constantly freezes, internet connection is sporadic, and I get these extremely annoying messages stating that I don't have administrative priviledges, can't do this, can't do that!... I find it unbeliavably frustrating (since I am the only user of my laptop and must have administrative priviledges by default, right?) when I get little statements like: "Can't do that. Contact your administrator!", or something very similar. Not to mention that I have tons of unknown processes and startups that seem to take over my windows. Please, please help!

I am including: 1) Hijack this log,
and 2) list of start-up entries (from Spybot report)

Boot

Run ActiveScan online virus scan

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

When the scan is finished, anything that it cannot clean have it delete it. Make a note of the file location of anything that cannot be deleted so you can delete it yourself.
- Save the results from the scan!

Post a new HiJackThis log along with the results from ActiveScan

Please give feedback on what worked/didn’t work and the current status of your system

Thank you, thank you! I did everything that you suggested.
Looks like Panda found and disinfected a couple of Trojans.
I'm not sure yet if that helped my system, or if the viruses already did their "dirty job"...

Start-up is still taking forever, though, and I still have a ton of unknown processes running at their own will.

My recycle bin is still corrupted (does NOT show any files in it) - WHAT DO I DO with the darn thing?

(Thanks for helping me to FINALLY get rid of the MS Messenger, by the way.

And what about this one - C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe ??
Isn't it another parasite??)

Here's my reports: first Panda:

C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe – legit but can be removed with HJT

Files not being listed in the Recycle Bin seem to be related to a corrupt info2 file. To correct the issue (Fat32):

Go to Start/Run and type in CMD:

Type CD\ RECYCLED, and then press ENTER. (or recycler depending on your system)
Type ATTRIB -r -s -h info2, and then press ENTER.
Type DEL INFO2, and then press ENTER.

NOTE: This deletes the damaged INFO2 file. Windows will recreate this file as needed, automatically.

Delete these files

C:\Documents and Settings\inna\Local Settings\Temp - all files and folders (a few temps will not delete)
C:\Install.exe
C:\kans.reg
C:\kansup.reg
C:\trufkz.html
C:\x.bat

Fix this with HJT

O23 - Service: AVG6 Service (AvgServ) - Unknown owner - C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG6\avgserv.exe (file missing)

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find

AVG6 Service

Rightclick and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. File-Exit the Services utility.

Note: You may get an error here when trying to access the properties of the service. If you do get an error, just select the service and look there in the top left of the main service window and click "Stop" to stop the service. If that gives an error or it is already stopped, just skip this step and proceed with the rest.

------------

In Hijack This, click on the "Open Misc Tools section" button. Next click the "Delete an NT service" button. Copy and paste the following in that box:

AvgServ

Click OK.
==========================

Boot - how is the system??????

Dear Distinguished Member,

Thank you so much for your help, and here's my progress:

1)info2: cmd.exe says that “file cannot be found”

2) C:\Documents and Settings\inna\Local Settings\Temp:

I have 175 “items” in there, and none of them will delete - the message is: “DFC8F7 cannot be deleted. See if it’s being used by another program and try again”

Well, I closed down absolutely everything, and it still won’t delete, not even one out of those 175 items.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS DFC8F7???

3) Out of all of these items marked for deletion –
C:\Install.exe
C:\kans.reg
C:\kansup.reg
C:\trufkz.html
C:\x.bat

- only two (C:\Install.exe and C:\trufkz.html) could be found. I went ahead and deleted them.

4) AVG6 Service: getting rid of this one was problem-free (for once!)

P.S. This is a minor point, but...
Is there any way to get rid of these annoying items?
(They're probably rather harmless but they do misbehave - they keep coming back, HJT seems helpless with them.)

Normal temp file

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download414.html

Use the clear files and Unnecessary files buttons - I do not recommend
using the Duplicates files button as many dupes are there on purpose.
-----------------------------------

Type CD\ RECYCLER
Type ATTRIB -r -s -h info2, and then press ENTER.
Type DEL INFO2, and then press ENTER.

Can't get rid of Trend Micro OfficeScan Client!

This may seem as a minor problem, but... it's quite annoying, not to mention that it takes up a lot of resources.
I want to uninstall Trend Micro Office Scan for a number of reasons:
1) I use AVG instead since it's free and it seems to do an equally good job;
2) it's outdated and completely useless since they want money for updates, basically it's nothing but a extra burden on my windows;
3) it's annoyingly commercial.

My prolem is that it won't uninstall, and I tried all tricks I could think of.
The darn thing is asking for a password, and then refers me to "the administrator for details". Well, excuse me, but I AM the administrator (sort of), since I'm the only person who uses my own, private laptop!
It's very frustrating...

Please help, any suggestions will be appreciated!

OhMyGoodness!! I think it sort of worked! Thank you so much!

My recycle bin behaves normally again. And I think the system is quicker and a little more stable now, and it doesn't give me all these annoying messages and error reports.
(But one annoying - or rather, alarming - problem still remains: when windows reboots, it gives me a message that one of my disks has become unstable, and it starts running this very lengthy disk scan/check. It never finds or fixes anything, but it started doing this routine weeks ago, when my computer started acting up.
Does it mean that the system is still unstable, or should I just find a way to shut it off??)

I loved Easy Cleaner, it deleted over 2,000 of files - but it couldn't delete these 8 - I'm attaching these files. (I closed down all the windows and programs, then rebooted, and still these 8 files could not be deleted, as if they were being in use. Are they harmless?)

Its normal for some temp files to be in use and not delete

Is that a S.M.A.R.T. disk notification - if so backup the data on that disk it sounds as if it is getting ready to go
