after 3 days of trying to eradicate 1on1 dialler and 123found homepage changer - i have finally used adaware which deleted 3 x igetnet and 1 x winlogon.exe (in help_ecc.dll). Adaware now picks up nothing and my hijack this log is below - but I dont think the HTL log is clean at all. I did try running house call but like Adaware it kept stopping at a certain file location (all numbers and letters, in c://temp I think).
Is this log clean or is there anything else I need to delete - I kind of think so but I'm not good enough to know what to do with the registries..

Thank you veru much to anyone who can possibly help....

    Hi and welcome to TSG,

I see you have Ad-Aware. Please make sure you have the latest reference file and run it again.

Then download and run: SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY, here:

    http://download.com.com/3000-2144-1...tml?tag=lst-0-1

Open Spybot Search & Destroy (Click Start, Programs, Spybot S&D (Advanced Mode). Click online, Search for updates, Download all available updates. Close all Browser windows, Click ''Check for Problems'', Put a check in every entry Spybot Search & Destroy flags with a red exclamation mark and click ''Fix Selected Problems'' , Then restart your computer.

Download both of these for added protection: SPYWAREBLASTER & SPYWAREGUARD, here:

    http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

    Then post another log please.

    Thanks
I have installed spyblaster and guard. Updated Spybot and Adaware and ran everything again. Adaware gets stuck at a location CLASSID{37BO3543-A4C8...etc} but has found 2 more items that I cant get access to due to the sticking. Spybot has picked up 18 items (IGETNET, 5 DSO's, 3 window media players items, a tracking cookie and some COMLOAD stuff) which are now in recovery. The log now appears:

The pop ups seems to have stopped and the homepage doesnt change. But the log looks still 'dirty' to my untrained eye? wuamgrd? and also have winlogon.exe and csrss.exe (I thought this was a bad item?) in windows/prefetch? should I delete all prefetch stuff? Finally are the O17's a bit dodgy?

Thanks for all your help - most appreciated.

    cheers
    Garet

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://helpdesk.its.bethel.edu/resnet/Documents/Antivirus/Safemode.html
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Locate and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\lsass.exe
    C:\Program Files\websx [FOLDER]
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WUAMGRD.exe

    That should clear it.

    The o17`s are ok.

    ;)

    Look ok?

I still cant get NAV, Housecall or Adaware to scan all the way through, it stops in my temp folder but dont know where and have done a defrag. I guess I can work my around that but its a pain not being able to scan all the way through - let me know if you have any ideas on this.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply it is most appreciated - and everything seems to be running fine now.

    Thanks
    Gary

    Clean log Gary (y)
Try emptying all temp folders........you could also try running your scans in safe mode.
And im sure you can cut down lots on your autoloads, some of which are not needed to be loaded with Windows.
    Take a look here:http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm

    ;)
