I just got a pc from my cousin. I took it to a local computer store to get it checked out and they hooked it up to their monitor, everything looked fine. I needed a monitor so I picked out a 22 inch AOC which was working in the store. I brought it home and cannot get a picture on the monitor. From the research I did, my only guess is that the pc is set to a higher resolution than what my monitor supports. The back of the monitor only has a vga port while the back of my pc has both a vga and dvi ports, which I have the adapter for. When I turn on the pc and monitor, it says "No Signal Analog". Any suggestions?

Do you have the monitor hooked up to the correct ports? Are you sure the connections are snug?

Are both the computer and monitor plugged into a power source?

Regardless of what screen res windows is set to, you would still see post data or the mb splash screen. If you are not seeing those, then either the monitor is DOA or you do not have it connected correctly.

Go back and recheck all connections. Some systems may have two different connectors for video depending on what cpu is installed and or onboard video. Make sure you are connecting to the correct port.
