My computer has had various viruses; a few days ago I had the fake virus remover UnSPY PC, I thought I had them all removed;

Just today found a folder in my IE favorites named "sex and dating" and when i tried to remove it, received a message that it was in use by another program.

Below is my Hijack this log (I just made it after turning off system restore). I can see that it still shows UnSpyPC.exe and probably some other things that I can't figure out.

Should I leave System Restore off for now?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to TSG :)

Run Kaspersky online virus scan here: http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

When the scan is finished, it usually does not give you any option to clean them.
Save the results from the scan.

Rescan with Hijack This.
When the log opens in Notepad, go to Format and select Wordwrap.

Post a new Hijack This log and the results of the Kaspersky scan.

Thanks so much for your help

I'm still not able to delete that "Sex and Dating" Folder in IE; keep getting the message: " Cannot delete Sex and Dating: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." But I can't find any programs running.

Here are the logs. First Kapersky:

Download KillBox here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
Save it to your desktop.
DO NOT run it yet.

Rescan with Hijack This.
Close all browser windows except Hijack This.
Put a check mark beside these entries and click "Fix Checked".

Boot into Safe Mode.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Now put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.
Click Yes.
Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\SbCIe02a.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ftbar.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\EXE32EXE.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\MONITER.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SAPSTR.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Bogobot.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\3.html

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not exist.
If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.

Exit the KillBox.

Find and delete this folder: C:\Program Files\UnSpyPC

Also in Safe Mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder.
Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box.
The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

It's normal if some files don't delete!

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options.
On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files".
Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK.
Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button.
Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin.

Empty the Norton AntiVirus Quarantine.

Reboot, post a new log.

So, thanks, Cheeseball81, things look better now. I was able to finally kill that folder.

And you were right--not all the files were found by Killbox--in fact, only the first 1-2 files were found.

Here is my post-treatment log.

Thanks again. let me know if there's any follow up.
