I have a Lenovo Yoga 13 in using Windows 8. I'm a student at the University of Florida and I don't know if this was due to a virus. Please help! I need my files for writing class!

This message is all that shows up when I open my laptop. I cannot do anything else on it.

"Default Boot Device Missing or boot failed. Insert recovery media and hit any key. Then select boot manager to choose a new boot device to boot or recovery media."

Howdy and welcome. I'm going to move this to the hardware forum as it seems to be more hardware related than virus; specifically, it looks like your HD may have failed or become disconnected.

Indeed it appears that either your hard drive has died or the connection has become damaged.

However, unfortunately most cases results in a dead drive.

If you have access to another computer burn a ISO if Seatools for DOS onto a blank CD/DVD and then boot from it. Run the tests and see what it tells you.
